3) Next up for 2021 Texas football recruiting class

Among the more recent emerging targets for the Longhorns 2021 recruiting class ahead of the Early Signing Period you can find the rising three-star 6-foot-4 and 295 pound center/OL Remington Strickland. The notoriety that the Fort Bend Christian Academy offensive line product haling out of Sugar Land, TX, has is not near that of Johnson.

But Strickland is an unheralded prospect that could add a lot of value in the trenches for the Longhorns. Herman and offensive line coach/co-offensive coordinator Herb Hand didn’t have a great run at things for his position group for this 2021 class. He missed out on the likes of the highly coveted Brockermeyer brothers, five-star offensive guard Donovan Jackson, and could be losing out on four-star Duncanville offensive lineman Savion Byrd, among others.

Although Strickland doesn’t hold the highest recruiting ranking of any Texas target, he does have an impressive and lengthy offer sheet. As of the night of Nov. 16, Strickland holds more than 30 schools on his offer sheet. And the other highlighting schools that have offered him includes the Houston Cougars, Memphis Tigers, SMU Mustangs, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Baylor Bears, Arkansas Razorbacks, Boise State Broncos, and Virginia Tech Hokies.

Strickland ranks as the nation’s No. 592 2021 high school prospect, No. 9 center, and No. 84 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 7 center and No. 101 prospect out of Texas.

The offers really started pouring in for Strickland of late. Since Sep. 19 he’s received offers from Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech.
