The final home game for most of the signees from the 2017 Texas football recruiting class is just around the corner. Texas has a number of upperclassmen that were part of the 2017 recruiting class that are set to make a big impact in the Black Friday big time Big 12 showdown against the No. 13 ranked Iowa State Cyclones.
A lot of the image of the 2017 recruiting class in the history of the Texas program will be shaped with how they finish out the 2020 regular season. Win out, and the Longhorns will get to likely have a rematch in the Big 12 Championship Game against head coach Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners.
That would be the second time in three years where Texas and Oklahoma got to play twice in one season by facing each other in the Big 12 Championship Game. And a lot of the leaders out of the 2017 class will have a lot to say in how the Longhorns remainder of the season will play out.
The 2017 recruiting class was the first that current head coach Tom Herman had during his time on the Forty Acres. But he wasn’t around for the entirety of the 2017 recruiting cycle, so not all of that class was his doing. A lot of that was pieced together by former Texas head coach Charlie Strong.
