1) Landing spots for Texas basketball’s Will Baker

Gonzaga

The final spot on this list of potential landing spots for the sophomore big man Baker out of the transfer portal is one that would have to be willing to take him into the mix, not the other way around. Looking to land with a school like TCU or UCLA would definitely still give Baker solid options for landing spots.

But it’s nothing like landing with one of the true top college hoops programs in the entire country right now, with head coach Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The 2016-17 Naismith Coach of the Year and multi-time WCC Coach of the Year award winner Few doesn’t often take on transfers since Gonzaga’s player development tends to be top notch.

The good news for Baker if he wanted to look the Zags’ way is that, while they didn’t send him a scholarship offer when he was coming out of high school, they did give him a scout look. Gonzaga and the Arizona Wildcats were reportedly two of the higher profile schools that gave Baker a scout look during his recruitment.

Gonzaga is a program that Baker could likely come close to fulfilling his potential if he was offered a significant role, likely coming off the bench from the start. They’ve produced a ton of NBA-caliber talent recently, and the Zags are even the No. 1 ranked team in the current AP Poll. They just cleared the Kansas Jayhawks by a double-digit margin last week.
