It’s not yet known if junior Texas football running back Keaontay Ingram will show up in the transfer portal next offseason, but it looks likely.

Coming up next offseason for the Texas football program could be yet another dramatic run of storylines in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas already looks like they will have multiple players in the transfer portal entering next offseason. And that looks to be especially true if past trends are any indication of what’s to come.

One of the key names that could be showing up in the transfer portal out of the Longhorns program is the former highly touted four-star recruit and junior running back Keaontay Ingram. Losing a running back with more 2,300 career total yards from scrimmage and 17 total touchdowns does hurt Texas without a doubt next year, Ingram does wind up putting his name in the portal.

Texas did lose some defensive line depth to the transfer portal entering the weekend, with the former unheralded three-star recruit and redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Daniel Carson announcing his intentions to leave the program. Those could be two impactful losses in the span of less than two weeks for the Longhorns between Ingram and Carson.

Now while it does appear that Ingram is opting out of the rest of the season, and likely putting his name in the transfer portal next offseason, fourth-year Texas head coach Tom Herman did counter that status last week. Herman reportedly still believes that Ingram has a healthy ankle and could be back with Texas back winter workouts after the turn of the calendar year.

However, if previous reports are true and Ingram does wind up putting his name in the transfer portal, where will he land? Here’s a look into three potential good landing spots for him.
