Oklahoma State

If Ingram wants to stay in the Big 12 to find his next landing spot, then a potential destination that makes sense is with head coach Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys up in Stillwater. Ingram is familiar with the Pokes since he’s faced them on three occasions, coming out on top with the Longhorns on two of them.

Oklahoma State was one of the 30 schools that offered Ingram coming out of high school a few recruiting cycles ago. And a lot of the positional coaches that Oklahoma State had at the time that they were pursuing Ingram during his recruitment are still on staff. It should be appealing to Ingram that former wide receivers coach Kasey Dunn is now the offensive coordinator and that Gundy is one of the more stable head coaches in the Big 12.

There is also the appeal of the potency of the Oklahoma State offense, and particularly the ground game of late. Oklahoma State has produced breakout stars at the running back position of late such as Justice Hill, Chuba Hubbard, and LD Brown. Former JUCO transfer Dezmon Jackson is also looking like a potential breakthrough stud at the position in the Big 12.

Oklahoma State is likely going to lose the likes of Hubbard at running back heading into next offseason, and Brown had some injury issues this year. Jackson should be back next season, and Brown should too, but Ingram could help form a nice trio in the backfield for the Pokes. Oklahoma State has to fill out their running back depth somehow next year after losing Jahmyl Jeter and Deondrick Glass to the transfer portal themselves in the last calendar year.
