News emerged from multiple reports (including Dallas County public arrest records) that a four-star cornerback commit in the 2021 Texas football recruiting class was arrested on the morning of Dec. 12. Details of this arrest in Dallas County were not released to the public yet, but this will continue to be a monitored storyline heading out of the weekend.
The particular Longhorns commit that was reportedly arrested over the weekend was four-star Kimball cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem. This blue chip product hailing out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex committed to fourth-year head coach Tom Herman and the Longhorns back on June 15, 2020.
There’s also no details yet pertaining to this situation and how it could impact the scholarship offer Ibraheem has from Texas. As we are just three days away from the start of the Early Signing Period, this news does come at a poor time for Ibraheem and the Texas program both.
This 6-foot-1 and 175 pound DB held offers from just shy of three dozen schools. Other highlighting schools on his offer sheet included the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, and USC Trojans.
