Receiving Corps
We’ll start this portion of the grades list off with the highest rated wide receiver commit that Herman and wide receivers coach Andre Coleman landed in the 2021 class. The speedy and versatile 5-foot-11 and 185 pound Monarch wideout Jaden Alexis is an integral piece of this signing class now.
He ranks as the nation’s No. 347 2021 high school prospect, No. 56 wide receiver, and No. 57 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 53 wide receiver and No. 46 prospect out of Florida.
Alexis chose Texas over offers from more than other other schools. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet included Alabama, Duke Blue Devils, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, and Texas A&M.
The first wide receiver commit that stuck in this 2021 class through the first day of the Early Signing Period was the three-star Warren Easton wideout Casey Cain. This 6-foot-2 and 175 pound receiver picked Texas over offers from a dozen other schools.
The other highlighting schools on Cain’s offer sheet includes the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Arkansas State Red Wolves, Houston Cougars, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Virginia Cavaliers. And he ranks as the nation’s No. 1,037 2021 high school prospect, No. 148 wide receiver, and No. 31 prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite).
Tight end was a revolving door in the Longhorns 2021 class. At first they had landed a commitment from the three-star hometown product Lake McRee, and then he decommitted a few months later. Then they landed three-star Landen King, who then flipped to the Auburn Tigers not too long after.
The tight end commit that wound up sticking for the Longhorns was the three-star Cherry Creek 6-foot-5 225 pound product Gunnar Helm. This Colorado native chose Texas over offers from 27 other schools. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet included Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Penn State, and Tennessee.
Helm ranks as the nation’s No. 655 2021 high school prospect, No. 33 tight end, and No. 5 prospect out of Colorado (247Sports Composite).
