1) Remaining 2021 Texas football QB targets

Definitely the most potent and intriguing quarterback target that the Longhorns could target on this list that remains uncommitted just a couple of months ahead of National Signing Day is a JUCO product hailing out of Mississippi. The unheralded, but very talented, three-star East Mississippi Community College dual-threat quarterback Jamari Jones could start racking up a lot of offers in the very near future.

The JUCO football season was pushed to the spring semester, which is why Jones and Smith could really be two quarterbacks to watch on the recruiting trail ahead of National Signing Day.

The 6-foot-3 and 200 pound Jones is uber-athletic and has an improving arm, both in terms of strength and accuracy. He’s also progressing as a thrower, and decision maker, when evading the pocket in the last year or two.

Jones didn’t get much game action during his freshman campaign last season at EMCC. He registered a completion percentage just north of 53.0, to go along with 430 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also registered 149 rushing yards and three rushing scores as a freshman last year.

As of the morning of Dec. 24, Jones only holds an offer from one school. FCS UT-Martin is the lone school on his offer sheet at this point in time, but that should all change in the very near future.

Moreover, Jones ranks as the nation’s No. 74 2021 JUCO prospect, top overall dual-threat quarterback, and No. 22 prospect out of Mississippi (247Sports JUCO rankings). The 247Sports Composite for JUCO prospects doesn’t have a ranking out for Jones yet.
