Texas Football: 3 things Tom Herman would love for Christmas
Christmas morning is here, and fourth-year Texas football head coach Tom Herman should have a very long wish list of presents he wants soon.
Heading into a postseason game that does have a lot on the line for fourth-year Texas football head coach Tom Herman and his team, a win would do a lot for the program ahead of the 2021 offseason. Texas is set to take on the one-loss Colorado Buffaloes (a former Big 12 foe) in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on Dec. 29.
Colorado was the surprise team in the PAC-12 this year in what was a very short season for that conference out west. If not for a regular season finale slip up for Colorado in their rivalry week, in the Rumble in the Rockies against the Utah Utes, they might’ve played the Oregon Ducks in the PAC-12 Championship Game last weekend.
However, Herman and the Longhorns could really use a win in the Alamo Bowl for the second straight year to head into the offseason on a high note. Last year, Texas upended then No. 11 ranked Utah in the Alamo Bowl, by the dominant final score of 38-10. Texas has a similar opportunity to make an impact on the national stage in this game.
Texas finished up the regular season with a record of 6-3 (5-3 Big 12), after dominating the Kansas State Wildcats in their de facto finale on the road back on Dec. 5, by the final score of 69-31. They can get that elusive seventh win by knocking off Colorado in the Alamo Bowl next week.
The Alamo Bowl will occur in the midst of the holiday season, thus giving way to a few Christmas wishes for Herman and the Longhorns (especially for the fan base). Here’s a look into three gifts that Herman would love for Christmas this year.
