After landing a Christmas morning pledge from WR Keithron Lee, a few names stick out as to who could be next for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class.

The latest commitment for the growing 2021 Texas football recruiting class arrived on Christmas morning for fourth-year head coach Tom Herman and first-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman. Texas expanded the number of commits in their 2021 class to 20 on the morning of Dec. 25 by landing a pledge from the unheralded three-star Rudder 5-foot-10 and 175 pound wide receiver Keithron Lee.

What the Longhorns are getting out of their Christmas Day commit Lee is the nation’s No. 536 2021 high school prospect, No. 86 wide receiver, and No. 76 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 97 wide receiver and No. 98 prospect out of Texas.

The emerging problem for Herman and the Longhorns in the 2021 class, roughly one week after the conclusion of the Early Signing Period, is the lack of blue chip commits on the offensive side of the ball. There is just one blue chip commit that Texas holds on at this point in time. And that lone blue chip pledge in the 2021 class is also at the wide receiver position, with recently upgraded four-star Monarch product Jaden Alexis.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class holds steady at No. 17 in the nation and remains in the second spot in the Big 12 behind the Oklahoma Sooners. It does look like Texas has at least a few more spots remaining in their 2021 class ahead of National Signing Day, depending on what happens for them in the NCAA Transfer Portal early next offseason.

With all of this in mind, here’s a look into the predictions for which commitment could be up next for the Longhorns 2021 class ahead of National Signing Day come February.
