2) 2021 prospects for Texas football to pursue with Banks

A real potential grand prize target that the likes of Sark, Banks, and the Longhorns could go after in the very near future at the wide receiver position is the highly touted four-star 6-foot and 200 pound Edna Karr product Destyn Hill. This talented wideout coming out of New Orleans, LA, is one of the best overall high school prospects remaining uncommitted for this cycle.

Less than one month ahead of National Signing Day, Hill doesn’t look to have a firm landing spot just as of yet. At one point, he was trending pretty heavily to land with Florida State. But that was last spring that Hill had a lot of traction with the Florida State coaching staff, which has looked to wane pretty good since.

It would have to be a really spirited late run for this new look Texas coaching staff to win over even some of the interests of Hill to the Forty Acres. He has yet to even receive so much as a scholarship offer from the Longhorns. But now could be the perfect time, and the lining of the stars as needed, to get some attention from Hill.

What bodes well for the Longhorns is the fact that Banks was the primary recruiter on Nick Saban’s staff pursuing Hill when he was Alabama’s special teams coordinator and a positional coach.

Moreover, Hill ranks as the nation’s No. 113 2021 high school prospect, No. 19 wide receiver, and No. 5 prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 148 high school prospect, No. 19 wide receiver, and No. 7 prospect out of Louisiana.
