1) 2021 prospects for Texas football to pursue with Banks

The final name on this list is also one that seems like the timing could really line up with given all of the changes of late to the Longhorns coaching staff. Texas really does look to have a great opportunity to make initial contact with (or at least the initial contact that is known to the public right now) the talented four-star 5-foot-10 and 185 pound Armwood athlete Charles Montgomery.

This Florida native was once a commit in the 2021 recruiting class with head coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators. And there’s still a chance that Gainesville will be the destined landing spot for Montgomery. But it was less than one full month ago that Montgomery announced his decommitment from the Gators, thus making way for other top tier programs like Texas to make headway in pursuing him.

Texas is not one of the nearly two dozen schools to send a scholarship offer Montgomery’s way, as of the afternoon of Jan. 15. But Banks was the primary recruiter on Saban’s staff pursuing Montgomery with the Crimson Tide, just like he was for Hill.

A few of the other highlighting schools on Montgomery’s offer sheet at the moment includes the Ohio State Buckeyes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, LSU Tigers, and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Moreover, Montgomery ranks as the nation’s No. 267 2021 high school prospect, No. 14 athlete, and No. 38 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 30 athlete and No. 58 prospect out of Florida.
