3) Texas football transfer RB targets to replace Ingram

The emergence of one star Buffalo Bulls running back during the college football season that was likely caused the proven and experienced junior rusher Kevin Marks to put his name in the portal this offseason. The rise to stardom of Buffalo’s breakthrough rusher Jaret Patterson pushed Marks firmly out of the starting role in the backfield last season.

And with other potential opportunities to hold a spot in a Power Five running back room starting in 2021, it made sense that Marks would explore his options out of the transfer portal this offseason. There’s a ton of Power Five programs that would love to have in the mix what Marks brings to the table as a physical and sneaky quick rusher that is also very versatile.

Marks is an experienced and proven back that has the ability to make an impact in the blocking game, ground game, and receiving game. During his three years playing for the Bulls, Marks registered a whopping 2,521 rushing yards (5.1 yards per carry), 28 rushing touchdowns, and 104 receiving yards on 29 catches, with no receiving touchdowns.

During the 2020 campaign in particular, Marks was still good for Buffalo in just seven games played. Last fall he registered 741 rushing yards (6.6 yards per carry), and seven rushing touchdowns.

Marks is one of the most underrated recruits from when he was coming out of high school that has his name currently in the transfer portal. Coming out of Norview High School in Norfolk, VA, Marks ranked as the nation’s No. 3,018 2017 high school prospect, No. 188 running back, and No. 61 prospect out of Virginia (247Sports Composite).
