2) Texas football transfer RB targets to replace Ingram

One of the more surprising names to appear in the transfer portal so far this offseason is a product of head coach Pat Fitzgerald and the Northwestern Wildcats football program, underrated junior running back Isaiah Bowser. The efficient and bruising 6-foot-1 and 220 pound fourth-year rusher Bowser didn’t get to play all that much for Northwestern last fall before putting his name in the portal this offseason.

Bowser actually saw his game peak with the Wildcats offense back during his freshman campaign, in 2018. He was nearly a 1,000 yard rusher in the 2018 season, where he played in 10 games. But since that point, Bowser has only played in a combined dozen games over the last two seasons.

Last fall, Bowser registered just 230 rushing yards (2.9 yards per carry), one rushing touchdown, and 52 receiving yards on eight catches (6.5 yards per catch), with one receiving touchdown. For his college career as a whole, in three years playing for Northwestern, Bowser registered just over 1,450 total yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns.

Of that, 1,300 were career rushing yards for Bowser (3.9 yards per carry), with seven rushing touchdowns.

Bowser is definitely one of the more high-profile names currently available in the transfer portal. He’s also yet another former under-the-radar recruit that wasn’t given enough attention coming out of high school. Back during the 2018 recruiting cycle, Bowser ranked as the nation’s No. 738 high school prospect, No. 37 running back, and No. 33 prospect out of Ohio (247Sports Composite).
