1) Texas football transfer targets to replace Jalen Green

The former Old Dominion Monarchs cornerback, and the 2019 All-Conference-USA Second Team selection Kaleb Ford-Dement had a phenomenal sophomore campaign after coming over to the FBS as a JUCO transfer. But since Old Dominion didn’t have a 2020 college football season in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic, we didn’t get to see a follow-up performance from the 5-foot-11 and 180 pound standout Ford-Dement.

In terms of targeting underrated cornerbacks in the transfer portal this offseason, there’s not much better that Sark and the Longhorns could find than Dement-Ford. The former Kilgore Junior College product and two-star recruit is a Texas native that signed with the 2019 Old Dominion recruiting class.

He ranked as the nation’s No. 341 2019 JUCO prospect, No. 44 cornerback, and No. 26 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the No. 54 JUCO cornerback and No. 31 prospect out of Texas. He held offers coming out of Kilgore JC from the likes of the New Mexico Lobos, UTEP Miners, and had a scout look from the Boise State Broncos.

During his first year playing for Old Dominion, Ford-Dement was huge in registering 26 combined tackles, no tackles for loss, no sacks, two interceptions, and a whopping 13 pass breakups. His play two seasons ago was great for the Monarchs, and he could be a nice boost in the cornerback depth to the Longhorns if they want to look his way in the transfer portal.
