National Signing Day came and went for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class without many notable headlines for newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian and the rest of his staff. In year’s past, now former Texas fourth-year head coach Tom Herman had some dramatic Early Signing Period and National Signing Day runs.

This year, National Signing Day was rather quiet on the Forty Acres, which wasn’t the worst thing in the world for a change. Texas didn’t lose any key commits/signees in the last month or so, and they even picked up one key addition to the 2021 class when it was all said and done.

Texas finished off their 2021 class with 21 commits/signees in the mix after National Signing Day came and went. They also got two key additions out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, and that trek could continue on into the thick of the 2021 offseason.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class ranked at No. 17 in the nation and in the second spot in the Big 12 behind the Oklahoma Sooners. This was the first recruiting cycle that the Longhorns rounded out a signing class ranked outside the top 10 in the nation since 2017. That was Herman’s first year as head coach on the Forty Acres.

Considering the vast array of losses to the transfer portal for the Longhorns already this offseason, getting more than 20 signees in the 2021 class is big. Sark is able to at least replenish some of the quantity of depth in the mix this year. He can make up for the quality starting with the 2022 recruiting class.

With all of this in mind, here’s a look into three 2021 signees for the Longhorns among the high school prospects that can make an immediate impact.
