The way that No. 13 ranked Texas basketball showed out of late on the hardwood was less than desirable after their hot start to this season. Head coach Shaka Smart didn’t get the best out of his team of late, and they even almost fell short on the road at the hands of the struggling Kansas State Wildcats on the night of Feb. 9.

Smart and the Longhorns now boast a record of 12-5 (6-4 Big 12) following their win over Kansas State on Feb. 9. The last two wins for the Longhorns came over Kansas State, which largely had to do with two games that were pushed back last month in the wake of novel coronavirus related issues.

Texas had their second meetings against the Iowa State Cyclones and the first against the TCU Horned Frogs pushed back in the wake of those aforementioned COVID-19 related issues. Leading up to the win over Kansas State earlier this week, Texas had lost three straight games at the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Baylor Bears.

Next up for the Longhorns is a meeting at home at the Frank Erwin Center against TCU and head coach Jamie Dixon on the night of Feb. 13. Getting their second win in a row would go a long way to help build confidence and momentum from this increasingly healthy Texas rotation moving forward.

Individual leaders for the Longhorns need to step up in what is a very experienced and talented rotation the rest of the way. With that in mind, here’s a look into the three players that must bounce back, and soon, for the Longhorns in the near future on the hardwood.
