2) Defensive targets for 2022 Texas football class

A prospect who is one of the most highly touted offers on this side of the ball from the Longhorns 2022 recruiting class is the uber-talented four-star Duncanville strong-side defensive end Omari Abor. There’s not much better that the Longhorns could do for this cycle at the defensive end position than by winning over a commitment from Abor.

The traditional rivals that the Longhorns face on the recruiting trail are going to work to try and get a commitment from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex native Abor. The likes of the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, and the Longhorns are all going after Abor full boar. This 6-foot-4 and 240 pound defensive lineman holds offers from that trio of schools, along with 21 others on his impressive offer sheet.

The other highlighting schools on Abor’s offer sheet includes the Crimson Tide, Ohio State, Auburn, Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia, LSU, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs, USC, and Washington Huskies.

As of the evening of Feb. 15, the lone expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction in for Abor has him committing to the rival Sooners. But there’s only one semi-confident expert Crystal Ball Prediction in for Abor’s commitment at this point in time. That’s nothing for Longhorns fans to really worry about as of yet.

Moreover, Abor ranks as the nation’s No. 44 2022 high school prospect, No. 2 strong-side defensive end, and No. 9 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 19 high school prospect, No. 2 strong-side defensive end, and No. 4 prospect out of Texas.
