1) Defensive targets for 2022 Texas football class

The final name up on this list is also one that could really launch the talent and depth present in the Longhorns 2022 class at the cornerback position. The highly coveted four-star Denton-Ryan 5-foot-11 and 185 pound cornerback Austin Jordan is also a really good fit with what Kwiatkowski likes to do in the secondary.

All you can ask for out of a starting cornerback in Big 12 football nowadays is the ability to stay in contention in one-on-one coverage often and make tackles in the open field. And that combination is exactly what Jordan looks to bring to the table once he takes his talents to the college ranks.

There’s no clear leader in the pursuit of Jordan’s commitment thus far, but some frontrunners are starting to emerge. In-state programs like Texas and Texas A&M appear to be near the top of his list, as are the rival Sooners and Ohio State. In general, Jordan holds offers from just under 20 schools as of the evening of Feb. 15.

The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes Auburn, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, the Penn State Nittany Lions, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Baylor Bears, Duke Blue Devils, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
