The way that the 2022 Texas football recruiting class is trending of late is something that could be a huge boost to this program over the long haul. Newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are making waves on the recruiting trail following a bevy of commits in their 2022 class over the course of the last few weeks.

Last weekend, it was Sark and the Longhorns landing a pair of commitments from the likes of the elite five-star Junipero Serra pro-style quarterback Maalik Murphy along with underrated three-star Arlington-Martin inside linebacker Trevell Johnson that made waves. It looked like the Longhorns could continue with the momentum rolling for their 2022 class to round out this month.

But it was hard to anticipated what would come up next for the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and the reigning Broyles Award winner Sark after such a big weekend for his 2022 class. On the night of Feb. 18, Sark and the Longhorns did land a massive commitment from the ultra-highly coveted four-star Frisco-Liberty 6-foot and 175 pound wide receiver Evan Stewart.

As the second top 100 ranked high school prospect in the nation for the 2022 cycle that is committed to the Longhorns class at the wide receiver position, Stewart is really solidifying things for this group. Stewart and four-star Lewisville wide receiver Armani Winfield encompass the two commits at the position in the 2022 class.

Who could be up next for the Longhorns 2022 class? Here’s a look into three potential 2022 prospects that could be up next as a commit in this recruiting class.
