Texas Football: 5 important transfer portal targets for March
4) Important Texas football portal targets in March
Turning to the Group of Five ranks to find help in the trenches would be nothing new for a Big 12 program like the Longhorns. In fact, the Longhorns often turned to the transfer portal in past offsaesons to find help along the offensive line. And given the lack of returning depth along the offensive line for the Longhorns this offseason, shoring up this group would do a lot of good.
Texas lost the likes of standout redshirt junior offensive tackle Sam Cosmi as an early entrant to the 2021 NFL Draft before the official conclusion of last season. And reliable senior offensive guard/center Derek Kerstetter also departed the Forty Acres earlier in the offseason after he suffered a season-ending injury late in a win over the Kansas State Wildcats.
A potentially very solid transfer portal target for Sark and new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood could turn to this offseason is the former UNLV Rebels 6-foot-3 and 325 pound senior offensive guard Justice Oluwaseun. There’s not many better offensive linemen in the transfer portal right now that are also more proven than this former UNLV standout.
The former vastly underrated two-star recruit of the Rebels that signed with their 2017 class Oluwasean was sensational for them in each of the last three years. He was one of the highest rated at his position in the Mountain West last season, giving up just six quarterback hurries, one QB hit, and two sacks, in six games and more than 430 snaps played.
