1) Important Texas football portal targets in March

One of the most highly sought after players in the transfer portal at the moment, among anyone playing on either side of the ball, is the former Clemson Tigers elite five-star recruit and junior cornerback Derion Kendrick. A defensive back that looked like he would be a big part of the secondary moving forward for defensive coordinator Brent Venables and head coach Dabo Swinney wound up landing in the portal this offseason.

Although the cornerback position was one of the strongest in the Longhorns 2021 signing class, they could still use some added depth and experience in the secondary to help smooth the transition for Kwiatkowski and co. Kendrick has the size and versatility to really thrive in the defensive scheme Kwiatkowski is accustomed to running from his time with the Washington Huskies as their co-defensive coordinator.

In his three years playing for Clemson (two of which came at corner, and the other at wide receiver), Kendrick registered 63 combined tackles (43 solo and 20 assisted), four tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries, one of which was also returned for a score.
