The losses have really piled up for newly hired Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian in the NCAA Transfer Portal since he first took this role on the Forty Acres back on Jan. 2. Texas was anticipated to see plenty of movement in the transfer portal this offseason, which is what has transpired in the last few months.

An already turbulent situation for the Longhorns under now former fourth-year head coach Tom Herman continued on after the hiring of the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and reigning Broyles Award winner Sark. But stability should return to the Forty Acres in due time once this offseason starts to lead into the start of summer workouts and fall camp.

The latest loss to the transfer portal for the Longhorns wound up coming last week from a bit of a surprising source. Texas found out that they would be losing senior defensive lineman Marqez Bimage to the portal before what would’ve been his final year of eligibility in college.

Texas has lost a good bit of depth on the defensive side of the ball to the transfer portal this offseason, especially among former blue chip recruits and key upperclassmen. Bimage falls into the bucket of key upperclassmen that could’ve filled a depth need along the defensive line next season.

The 6-foot-2 and 250 pound to-be fifth year defensive lineman played for Texas for four years, but didn’t really wind up seeing any action last season in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. He should be well rusted, but might have some rust to shake off, whenever he finds his next landing spot.

With this in mind, here’s a look into three potential transfer destination for the former Longhorns DL Bimage out of the portal.
