2) Early elite 2023 Texas football recruits

Yet another defensive back prospect up on this list is one that Sark and the Longhorns could build a good foundation with this position group in the 2023 class. Texas is already zoning in on a number of defensive back prospects for this recruiting cycle, with the highly touted four-star 6-foot-0.5 and 175 pound Coppell cornerback Braxton Myers.

There is not as much attention being paid to Myers as there will be in the very near future. He’s only got offers from 16 schools as of the evening of March 8. Some of the highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Indiana Hoosiers, and Cincinnati Bearcats.

Texas was in the initial half of programs that offered Myers. But a different coaching staff will now be going after this product hailing out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Moreover, the Top247 ranks Myers as the nation’s No. 86 2023 high school prospect, No. 7 cornerback, and the No. 8 prospect out of Texas. He’s one of the very best and most potent defensive backs hailing out of this state for the 2023 cycle.

It was actually the now former Texas defensive coordinator/safeties coach Chris Ash and cornerbacks coach Jay Valai that were going after Myers when he was originally offered by the Longhorns. But now it will be the likes of Kwiatkowski and defensive backs coach Terry Joseph pursuing him on the recruiting trail with Sark’s new look coaching staff.
