3) Why Texas basketball will decimate OK State

Shaka Smart’s tough two-way team is something Oklahoma State hasn’t seen in a while

Oklahoma State did get a nice win over a tough Baylor team that is something that Texas definitely has to note. Beating West Virginia in two straight games to conclude the regular season and win in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament is no easy feat either.

But Texas has an edge in this game that Oklahoma State really has not had to contend with in a while. Texas has a level of physicality and pure athleticism up and down their rotation that is unmatched by really any other team in the Big 12. Coleman and Ramey are a very twitchy and potent backcourt duo on both ends of the floor.

Not to mention the Longhorns frontcourt rotation that has multiple potential lottery picks in it come the 2021 NBA Draft.

Oklahoma State is a gifted team physically between the Boone twins, Cunningham, and former blue chip recruit and freshman guard Rondel Walker. That group of Pokes doesn’t have the same experience factor that Texas has in their starting five, though. Texas has three fourth-year players in shooting guard/wing Andrew Jones, senior center Jericho Sims, and Coleman, in their starting five alone.

Experience can play a major role in a spot like this in the final round of the Big 12 Tournament. Oklahoma State is rolling right now, but they are still a young team that is facing a huge hurdle in beating the Longhorns in this night.
