There is an impactful decision date looming for a key target along the defensive line for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class coming early next week. Texas got their initial commitments on the defensive side of the ball in their 2022 class in the form of one linebacker and two defensive backs. The next up could very well be their first that plays along the defensive line.

Newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski are likely placing a major emphasis on the recruiting trail right now for the Longhorns on this side of the ball. That aforementioned next commitment up for the Longhorns 2022 class on this side of the ball could be the under-the-radar three-star 6-foot-3 and 280 pound North Shore defensive tackle Kristopher Ross.

Ross has an anticipated decision date looming for his commitment for March 23, which is exactly one week away. That’s not too far into the future for Sark and the Longhorns to potentially expand their 2022 class in an underrated way.

And there’s a good indication that the Longhorns are in good position at the moment to get the pledge of Ross when he announces next week. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions currently have all of their experts picking Ross to give his commitment to Texas over the rest of the competition.
