2) Key out of state 2022 prospects this offseason: Jaleel Skinner

A key position that is getting a lot of focus right now for the Longhorns 2022 class is in the receiving corps. Texas has yet to land any tight end commits in their 2022 class, and they just lost the commitment of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex product Stewart last week. If Sark and second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman can rejuvenate this position group in the near future, it would immediately spurn any downward trend for this class.

And one prospect that recently came to the forefront for the Longhorns 2022 class is getting in the race to land a commitment from the ultra-potent four-star 6-foot-5 and 210 pound Greer wide receiver Jaleel Skinner. This South Carolina native is one of the most towering and physically gifted wide receivers/tight end prospects for this recruiting cycle.

It appears that Skinner is eyeing a visit with Texas if the official visit process returns this summer.

Skinner is getting a lot of attention from top programs all over the country. Texas is one of nearly two dozen schools to send a scholarship offer Skinner’s way. Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet included the Clemson Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma, and Oregon Ducks.

Moreover, Skinner ranks as the nation’s No. 97 2022 high school prospect, No. 3 tight end, and No. 3 prospect out of South Carolina (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 86 high school prospect, No. 3 tight end, and No. 2 prospect out of South Carolina.
