One of the most anticipated parts of the offseason around the college football recruiting landscape will be the return of official visits across the country this summer. That means that the 2022 Texas football recruiting class will finally get to host some of its top targets on campus to make a broader and more significant impression.

More volatility resulted on the recruiting trail, and likely will continue to do so for a while in certain ways, during the COVID-19. Changing life as we know it in many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic might not have impacted one portion of college football in the last calendar year or so more so than the recruiting process.

Newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian found a lot of success on the recruiting trail right out of the gates with this program with both his 2022 and 2023 classes. In his first couple of months at the helm as the Texas head coach, Sark landed a host of blue chip commits that established solid foundations for each of the next two recruiting cycles.

Texas is now up to seven commits in their 2022 class, with the latest coming from three-star North Shore defensive tackle Kristopher Ross. And the sole commit in the 2023 class is the elite five-star El Campo running back Rueben Owens.

Really the next step for the Longhorns for each of their next two recruiting classes is getting top prioritized targets to the Forty Acres for key official visits this summer. That’s where the excitement could really build for this group.

Here’s a look at three key visitors to the Forty Acres worth watching this summer for Sark and the Longhorns.
