Ayodele Adeoye, LB

One of the more highly touted recent linebacker commits for the Longhorns was the junior former IMG Academy product Ayodele Adeoye. The 6-foot-2 and 250 pound Adeoye is one of the more potent and still promising names available in the portal at the linebacker position as of April 1. And considering his name remained in the portal since Jan. 8, it’s a tad bit surprising he hasn’t found his next landing spot yet.

As he has dealt with a plethora of injury issues since first landing on the Forty Acres back during the 2018 offseason, Adeoye hasn’t really been able to find his way under Herman. Adeoye also got to play for two different defensive coordinators before putting his name in the transfer portal this offseason, before a third could arrive.

New defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski doesn’t look like he will get a chance to develop the talented, but injury-prone, Adeoye himself. Adeoye put his name in the transfer portal less than one week after the hiring of Sark was announced to replace Herman, back on Jan. 2.

Coming out of IMG Academy during the 2018 cycle, Adeoye ranked as the nation’s No. 119 high school prospect, No. 6 inside linebacker, and No. 23 prospect out of Missouri (247Sports Composite).

In two years playing for Texas over the course of the last two years, Adeoye registered 55 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups, in bits and pieces of just over a dozen games played.
