It’s easy to think how it makes sense that Hepa takes his talents back closer to home out of the transfer portal. And while that might be a driving factor for the Oregon native for where he transfers to this offseason, there are likely to be other considerations that come into play.

Getting into a situation where Hepa can make an immediate impact makes a lot of sense as to why he could pick another landing spot. A landing spot like Gonzaga might have the elite potential for Hepa, but he’ll also face a plethora of talented players to compete with for playing time.

Landing with a PAC-12 program like the Washington Huskies that could give him a shot to make an immediate impact this season could be very appealing for Hepa. Washington is also one of the schools that offered him out of high school.

The Huskies have already sustained multiple losses to the transfer portal this offseason at the power forward position. Those losses include former four-star power forward recruits Hameir Wright and J’Raan Brooks.

Washington looked like one of the PAC-12 favorites, and a team that might be able to make some noise in March Madness, heading into the conference tournament. And it is one program that has churned out a good bit of NBA talent in recent years. That could mean a nice spot for Hepa to develop his game fast and get more NBA-level exposure as soon as next season.
