Results could start pouring in soon again for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class and newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian in the midst of spring ball. Texas is soon going to be able to host key targets of their 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes again on campus for official visits. Visit season will return to the college football recruiting landscape this summer.

Sark and the Longhorns were able to catch a real spark on the recruiting trail for their 2022 and 2023 classes in the first couple of months after he was hired. Sark was first hired to replace the former fourth-year head coach Tom Herman back on Jan. 2.

The volatility that many would anticipate on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns 2022 class following another coaching staff turnover did not really play out. A lot of the volatility that transpired on the trail for the Longhorns actually took place while Herman was still firmly entrenched as Texas’ head coach.

Expectations moving forward for 2022 Texas football recruiting class

That was a lot of the reason why the Longhorns parted ways with Herman in the first place. Hopefully hiring the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and reigning Broyles Award winner Sark is a stabilizing force for good for this program both on the recruiting trail and on the field in the fall.

Texas will be able to get more of a usual offseason on the recruiting trail this year once official visits do resume. The latter stages of the COVID-19 pandemic should be less restrictive on the recruiting process as a whole this summer than they were last.

With that in mind, here’s a look at three elite visitors that the Longhorns are hosting this summer that are key targets of the 2022 class.
