This crucial point of the offseason for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class could make also for a really good stretch for newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian. As spring ball moves along on the Forty Acres, Texas tries to also get things ramped back up on the recruiting trail. Texas caught a real spark on the recruiting trail in the first couple of months after Sark was hired to replace former head coach Tom Herman back on Jan. 2.

But the results for the Longhorns 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes have dried up a bit of late, at least compared to the pace they were moving at a month back. Texas has landed just one commitment in their last four weeks in the 2022 or 2023 class, which came from three-star North Shore defensive tackle Kristopher Ross back on March 23.

Texas is still sitting in a good position with their 2022 class at the moment. And there could be more good results on the way in the near future for the Longhorns on the recruiting trail with spring camp ramping into high gear ahead of the Orange-White Game on April 24.

More hope for Texas football recruiting this offseason?

The writing is on the wall that the Longhorns could be catching fire soon in their 2022 class again, with Sark instilling more confidence in the direction of the program. Texas currently holds seven commits in their 2022 class, with the highest-rated being the elite five-star pro-style quarterback Maalik Murphy.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2022 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 8 in the nation and in the second spot in the Big 12 behind the Oklahoma Sooners.
