All eyes for Texas basketball fans in the last two weeks have remained on what newly hired head coach Chris Beard is doing in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas is one of the busiest college hoops programs in the entire country at this point of the offseason in the transfer portal, landing three key additions to the team in the span of fewer than five days last week.

In the span of fewer than 24 hours last week, Beard and the Longhorns had landed two commitments out of the transfer portal that could dramatically bolster the program next season. Beard snagged commitments from both former Kentucky Wildcats freshman guard and elite five-star recruit Devin Askew and Utah Utes junior forward Timmy Allen out of the portal in just one day’s time.

Then later in the week, the Longhorns snagged another commitment out of the portal, which came in the form of the underrated former Creighton Blue Jays junior forward Christian Bishop. Texas is now at least above five players sure to be on the roster, as it stands now, at the outset of next season.

Where other former Texas basketball players are now?

Given all of the roster attrition earlier this offseason for the Longhorns, the question comes about as to where the rest of the team went. Texas did lose a lot of depth to the transfer portal themselves. The 2021 NBA Draft could also wind up taking a good bit of talent off of the Forty Acres.

Granted most former Longhorns that are now taking their talents elsewhere look to have a set path. For instance, former Longhorns big man Royce Hamm found his next landing spot out of the portal with the UNLV Rebels, and forward Gerald Liddell committed to Alabama State last week.

But there are still a handful of former Longhorns still seeking out their next home in the transfer portal this offseason. Here’s a look at two Texas Exes still trying to find their next home out of the portal, and one just trying to find the right next landing spot for him.
