Texas Football: 3 crucial visitors Sark can win over at spring game
We are now just two days away from new head coach Steve Sarkisian getting to kickoff his first spring football game in Austin. And the 2022 Texas football recruiting class could actually have some key visitors in attendance for such festivities for the first time in two years. Texas is set to host a spring football game at DKR this coming weekend for the first time since the 2019 offseason, which could be huge for this new-look coaching staff.
Back on Jan. 2, the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and reigning Broyles Award winner Sark was hired to replace former fourth-year head coach Tom Herman to lead this Texas program. The Longhorns had a lot of volatility both on the field and on the recruiting trail in the latter months under Herman’s direction.
With volatility already occurring on the recruiting trail and with the roster at hand last season, Sark actually didn’t see an uptick in recruiting class turnover and roster attrition to too great of a degree in his first couple of months on the Forty Acres. That is good news moving forward for Sark and the Longhorns as they now prepare for the looming Orange-White Game.
Sark awaiting an impactful spring game for Texas football
The Orange-White Game is set to kickoff for the Longhorns at DKR on April 24 at 1 p.m. CT. And it already sounds like there’s going to be some key recruiting targets, and current commits for the 2022 and 2023 classes, in attendance for the spring game.
How can Sark use this as an opportunity to move the 2022 and 2023 classes forward for the Longhorns heading into the latter stages of the offseason? Here’s a look into three recruiting targets in particular that Sark can make an impact on at the spring game. Two of these are big-time targets and one is a current commit.
