Arch Manning, QB

There’s not much better that Sark and the Longhorns could do with their 2023 recruiting class than winning over a commitment from the elite five-star 6-foot-4 and 200 pound Isidore Newman pro-style quarterback Arch Manning. This New Orleans, LA, native is about the most highly-sought after signal caller for the entire 2023 recruiting cycle at this point in time.

Texas has stayed in close communication with Manning through the early stages of his recruitment, and it appears that Sark is doing well in pursuit of his commitment thus far. That’s what will be needed if the Longhorns want any hope of getting Manning in their 2023 class when it’s all said and done.

There was a point at which the Longhorns held a commitment from the top rated high school prospect in the nation for the 2022 cycle. But former head coach Tom Herman was not able to keep the elite five-star Southlake Carroll pro-style quarterback Quinn Ewers in their 2022 class.

Although it is not officially confirmed yet, a report from Horns247 this week (paid content) more than hinted at the possibility of Manning showing up for the spring game this weekend. Getting Manning to the Forty Acres for a visit this weekend could be a critical point in the timeline of his recruitment if Sark and his coaching staff are able to pull that off.

Texas is one of 10 schools now on Manning’s growing offer sheet. Some of the other notable schools that have offered him include the Crimson Tide, Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ole Miss Rebels, and Tennessee Volunteers.

Moreover, Manning ranks as the nation’s No. 3 2023 high school prospect, and the top overall pro-style quarterback and prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 5 high school prospect, and the top overall pro-style quarterback and prospect out of Louisiana.
