Big news arrived for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class on the afternoon of April 24, with the announcement that the former Michigan Wolverines four-star wide receiver commit/signee Xavier Worthy will now be taking his talents to the Forty Acres. Newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian and second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman got an enormous boost to their 2021 class in retroactive fashion by landing the commitment from the elite 6-foot-1 and 160 pound Central East product Worthy.

As Sark and the Longhorns took part in the annual Orange-White Game at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on April 24, the news broke in the public eye on the Twitter timeline of Worthy that he would be joining the Longhorns. This is really the first retroactive addition for the Longhorns 2021 class this offseason.

Texas did get a retroactive addition to their 2020 recruiting class last offseason when former head coach Tom Herman flipped the commitment of four-star Pflugerville Connally cornerback Jahdae Barron from the Baylor Bears. Adding depth with a key position group is huge for the Longhorns when help arrives like it did in the form of flipping the commitment of Worthy.

What’s next for Texas football after landing Xavier Worthy?

After landing the commitment of Worthy, Texas is now up to a solid 22 commits in their 2021 class. They made up this 2021 class through a variety of additions from the NCAA Transfer Portal and late signees after Sark was hired to replace Herman back on Jan. 2.

Worthy also becomes the second highest-rated commit in the Longhorns 2021 class right away. The only commit/signee ranked higher than him in this group is the elite five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders.

With all of this in mind, here’s a look into a prediction of the next addition for the Longhorns 2021 class this offseason if they make another move in the near future.
