Texas Football: Predicting next transfer addition after Devin Richardson
Jordan Moore, S
One of the potential gem finds for a program like the Longhorns in the transfer portal this offseason that could immediately impact the defensive backfield is the former Houston Cougars proven and experienced 5-foot-11 and 210 pound sophomore safety Jordan Moore. Texas could still use some help at the safety position, and transfer portal entrants such as Moore and Kaufman could be good solutions on the Forty Acres.
This is the second time that the former blue chip recruit and Yoakum, TX, native Moore had his name show up in the transfer portal. He had originally signed with head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies in the SEC West when he was recruited out of Yoakum High School during the 2018 cycle.
The first landing spot for Moore out of the transfer portal was Houston in the American Athletic Conference. He lasted two seasons with former West Virginia Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars before putting his name in the portal for the second time in his college career, back on Jan. 6.
What a defensive back like Moore could bring for the Longhorns out of the transfer portal this year is a long-term impact player that has a proven track record from his time at Houston, and a very promising talent level. Over the course of his two years playing at safety and linebacker for the Cougars, Moore registered 26 combined tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
