Yet another really nice addition for the Texas basketball program and new head coach Chris Beard arrived out of the NCAA Transfer Portal on April 26. Texas was anticipated to keep on rolling in terms of their momentum in the transfer portal heading into the month of May. And Beard did a great job to get a big haul out of the transfer portal since first getting hired as Texas head coach back on April 1.

That aforementioned latest addition for Beard and the Longhorns out of the transfer portal this offseason came in the form of the Pflugerville, TX, native and former Vanderbilt Commodores sophomore power forward Dylan Disu. Beard and the Longhorns saw the announcement of Disu come down in the public eye courtesy of his Twitter timeline on the evening of April 26.

Disu is a former four-star recruit and Texas native that was an integral part of Vanderbilt’s 2019 signing class. Coming out of Hendrickson High School during the 2019 cycle, Disu ranked as the nation’s No. 132 high school prospect, No. 21 power forward, and No. 13 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).

What’s next for Texas basketball after adding Dylan Disu?

Texas just got their fourth addition out of the transfer portal by landing a commitment from Disu. Their other three are the former Kentucky Wildcats freshman guard Devin Askew, Creighton Blue Jays junior forward Christian Bishop, and Utah Utes junior forward Timmy Allen.

It now appears that Beard and the Longhorns are up to eight players set on the roster to come back for the 2021-22 season. There could still be more activity in the transfer portal ahead for the Longhorns throughout the remainder of the offseason.

With that in mind, here’s a look at who the next addition out of the portal could be for the Longhorns basketball program.
