Texas Football: 3 best Sam Ehlinger landing spots in the NFL Draft
We are now in the midst of the first night of the 2021 NFL Draft, and it looks like there could be a host of former Texas football players that are coming off the boards in the next few days. One of the Texas Exes that is definitely worth watching come day two or three of the 2021 draft is the former star senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
On day one of the draft, the Longhorns could potentially see one or both of their former star junior outside linebacker/edge rusher Joseph Ossai and redshirt junior standout offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi picked up in the first round. But with the draft now roughly halfway through the first round on the night of April 29, and neither Ossai nor Cosmi off the board, it’s hard to tell if they’ll make it through to day two.
Moreover, Ehlinger was one of the more hotly discussed quarterbacks on draft boards, that could be picked on day two or early on day three, this year. Ehlinger’s draft stock was pretty difficult to pinpoint since his skill set varies in translation to the next level.
Best NFL landing spot for former Texas football QB Sam Ehlinger?
There were even some that discussed Ehlinger having to move positions at the next level. But while I am not indicating that Ehlinger should think about moving positions in the NFL, the fact that discussion even existed shows how many challenges he faced in proving the doubters wrong throughout this draft scouting process.
So where will Ehlinger land in the draft when it’s all said and done? Here’s a look at three of the best landing spots for Ehlinger in the 2021 draft.
