Atlanta Falcons

This might be my favorite overall landing spot for Ehlinger in the NFL in terms of how he could potentially slot in a few years down the road as a starting quarterback. The Atlanta Falcons might still have a few years left out of the former Boston College Eagles quarterback and one-time NFL MVP Matt Ryan.

Learning under a solid quarterback like Ryan that has an accurate arm and a lengthy pedigree in the NFL could be extremely beneficial for Ehlinger. What also helps Ehlinger is that he could get some early playing time since the Falcons don’t really have a good backup quarterback at this point of the offseason.

The Falcons also have a pretty good supporting cast around their quarterback on the offensive side of the ball. The receiving corps is pretty special for the Falcons, with the former Alabama Crimson Tide stars Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley leading the way. And the Falcons just dramatically upgraded at the tight end position by drafting the former Florida Gators stud Kyle Pitts.

In terms of all the pieces falling in line together for Ehlinger to land in the proper situation, it’s hard to beat what he could get with the Falcons in the NFC South. Watch out for this Falcons team to try and add depth in the early-to-middle rounds of this draft by selecting the former Longhorns star dual-threat signal caller Ehlinger.
