Since Texas did lose the likes of Lewis and Epps within the past week due to various reasons, they do have some depth needs to plug at wide receiver. Texas will get a nice injection of raw talent to the program by landing that aforementioned commitment from the former four-star 2021 Michigan commit Worthy last weekend. But the proven depth in the receiving corps just isn’t there as it once was right now.

Texas also saw the likes of former graduate transfer and redshirt senior Brenden Schooler move from wideout to play defensive back this year. Despite the position switch of former defensive back Montrell Estell to play at wideout, Texas still needs more proven depth at the position to step up for this fall.

One option could definitely be to turn to a proven talent at wideout in the transfer portal this offseason like the former standout Texas A&M 6-foot-2 and 190 pound redshirt junior Camron Buckley. There was a point in time when Buckley was one of the top options in the Texas A&M passing game, but various hurdles have caused him to miss time over the last two years.

Buckley is a former underrated three-star recruit that did have an offer from the Longhorns way back during the 2017 cycle. The coaching staff that was pursuing him for Texas was under the direction of former head coach Charlie Strong. Things have obviously changed a lot on the Forty Acres since then.

However, Buckley would be a nice addition to the Longhorns receiving corps this offseason potentially in the same way that Tarik Black was last year. In bits and pieces of three years playing for Texas A&M, Buckley registered 62 catches for 877 receiving yards (14.1 yards per catch), good for four touchdown catches.
