Samuel Cosmi, OT

The well-rounded game of the former Texas redshirt junior standout 6-foot-7 and 305 pound offensive tackle and criminally underrated three-star recruit Samuel Cosmi is somewhat surprisingly still left on drafts board in day two. Cosmi is a multi-year All-Big 12 lineman and was a Freshman All-American.

Not only that, Cosmi was one of the most consistent and reliable offensive linemen that helped to anchor this group for the Longhorns since the 2018 campaign. Senior star quarterback Sam Ehlinger had to be thrilled about having Cosmi anchoring the line blocking in front of him.

However, Cosmi should be off of draft boards on April 30 by the end of round two. There was definitely no guarantee that he was going to be off the board in round one, but the possibility was certainly there.

Cosmi is a really good pass blocker that never allowed sacks on more than two percent of the snaps he played in his career on the Forty Acres. He was also usually one of the highest-graded run blockers in the Big 12. Granted, Cosmi didn’t get all that many snaps on actual run blocking plays compared to some linemen off the Forty Acres in years past.

Watch out for some NFL team to get an absolute steal out of Cosmi in either the second or third round of the draft on April 30. Cosmi is definitely one of the offensive tackles that have the highest floor in the group for the 2021 draft class.
