The weekend festivities of the 2021 NFL Draft just wrapped up on the evening of May 1. And five former Texas football players were taken off of the board on the three days of the festivities of the 2021 draft. That was not only the most for Texas in more than two years, it was the most of any Power Five program in this state.

Of the five former Longhorns that were picked up in the actual seven rounds of the 2021 draft, two were off the board on day two. The other three were taken off the board on day three of the draft. On day two, it was Washington Football Team taking offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi 51st overall in the second round. And then the Cincinnati Bengals selected edge rusher Joseph Ossai 69th overall in the third round.

The last three Texas Exes off the board were defensive end Ta’Quon Graham to the Atlanta Falcons, safety Caden Sterns to the Denver Broncos, and Sam Ehlinger to the Indianapolis Colts. Ehlinger landing with the Colts in the AFC South presented the final pick in the seven rounds among former Longhorns, though.
