It’s hard to believe that there was a point in time where the sizable 6-foot-3 and 325 pound former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Marcus Tubbs made the transition from tight end to the defensive line during his time on the Forty Acres. But early in his college career, Tubbs did make that transition from one side of the ball to the other.

And similar to Sweed, Tubbs was hit with some unfortunate injuries during his brief NFL career that largely doomed his fate. Knee injuries really started to take hold for Tubbs after his first two years in the NFL. He had a knee injury that plagued him in 2007, and then he would never really recover to the point where he could have a steady career after that point.

Tubbs was the 23rd overall pick of the Seahawks in the first round of the 2004 draft. The Seahawks invested a lot into the potent talent that Tubbs brought to the table. But he only wound up playing in 29 games during his brief stint at the next level. And in those three seasons, Tubbs registered 60 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, seven sacks, two quarterback hits, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

If you break down the numbers that Tubbs posted on a per-game basis in his NFL career, they’re not too shabby. But the complete body of work just isn’t there for Tubbs to avoid getting a spot on this list. He came close to showing us what he could do during the 2005 campaign, with 5.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups, in 13 regular season games played.
