The most recent name out of the Texas football program to show up in the NCAA Transfer Portal came this week by way of the former three-star recruit and redshirt freshman wide receiver Kennedy Lewis. The Melissa, TX, native and former Melissa High School product actually left the program before his name officially showed up in the transfer portal.

Last week, new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns lost some depth in their receiving corps with Lewis and former redshirt sophomore tight end/wide receiver Malcolm Epps both leaving the program. Epps immediately put his name in the transfer portal, but it was a delayed reaction for Lewis to land in that spot.

It was within the past week that Lewis left the team, and how the anticipated move of his name showing up in the transfer portal is confirmed. And it was earlier this week that the former blue chip recruit Epps joined a number of other former Longhorns and committed to play for head coach Clay Helton and the USC Trojans in the PAC-12.

This now brings up the question, where will Lewis take his talents to next. This is the first time that Lewis put his name in the transfer portal in his college career to date. There’s a chance that he could wind up back on the Forty Acres, but few have that landed in the portal at any point this offseason.

Texas is seeing a lot of movement in general in the portal so far this offseason. While that was to be expected under Sark’s direction early on, the headlines seem to be coming non-stop in the past few weeks.

Here’s a look into three potential landing spots for Lewis out of the portal.
