Spring camp was a time to grow and adjust to new systems implemented by a completely new coaching regime for the Texas football program. New head coach Steve Sarkisian faced multiple hurdles so far this offseason to try and get himself acclimated to the new digs on the Forty Acres. But it looks like he’s doing pretty well so far.

In the few months since the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and reigning Broyles Award winner, Sark was hired to replace former head coach Tom Herman with the Longhorns, the program found a nice spark. That spark was mostly found on the recruiting trail and in the NCAA Transfer Portal. That’s about all of the actual tangible ways that Sark can add to the program as of now.

Post-spring thoughts for Texas football

Texas now looks forward to official visit season resuming on the recruiting trail this summer, and summer workouts beginning for the rest of the incoming 2021 signing class later this offseason. They ended spring ball on a high note with a lot of new faces standing out. Some familiar faces stood out too, especially in the Orange-White Game back on April 24.

Sark and the Longhorns have a lot of intrigue that they carry with them into the fall. It’s hard to tell what a realistic outlook will be for the upcoming season. We did learn a bit about the status of the new schemes being implemented on both sides of the ball, and the looming quarterback competition.

Here’s a look into three Longhorns players whose stock is up post-spring camp.
