The 2021 NFL Draft just came and went, and Big 12 football programs did play a prominent role in how the seven rounds shook out. The Texas Longhorns had five players selected in the seven rounds of the draft. Other Big 12 programs such as the Oklahoma Sooners had five, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys had four.

There was at least one draft pick from other Big 12 schools such as the Texas Tech Red Raiders, TCU Horned Frogs, and Baylor Bears, in this class. The first Big 12 draft pick this year was former Oklahoma State offensive tackle, who landed with the Chicago Bears 39th overall in the second round.

The three other second-round draft picks among Big 12 prospects were TCU safety Trevon Moehrig (43rd overall, Las Vegas Raiders), Texas offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi (51st overall, Washington Football Team), and Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey (63rd overall, Kansas City Chiefs).
