It has been all quiet on the transfer front in the last week or so for new head coach Chris Beard and the Texas basketball program after a wild month of April. In the few weeks following the hire of the former Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Beard with the Texas program, the action out of the NCAA Transfer Portal seemed like it was non-stop.

Now that things are slowing down a good bit for Beard and the Longhorns at this point of the offseason, they can focus on building out the rest of the roster with players that are potentially coming back from last year’s team and where to target their next portal prospects. Slowing down in the transfer portal might be a good thing from here on out for Beard and the Longhorns.

Given the pace that Beard had to move at out of the gates to get some of the top transfer portal names available at the time, the strategy surrounding building up this roster had to be put on hold for the most part.

Texas basketball staying busy in the portal this offseason

There are already four additions that Beard and the Longhorns got out of the transfer portal this offseason. The latest came from the standout former Vanderbilt Commodores sophomore power forward Dylan Disu, just over one week ago.

Texas has also landed commitments from the likes of former Utah Utes junior forward Timmy Allen, Creighton Blue Jays junior forward Christian Bishop, and Kentucky Wildcats freshman guard Devin Askew, out of the portal thus far.

Here’s a look at four transfer portal targets that could stick out for the Longhorns in the month of May.
