One of the most underrated and versatile forwards that remain in the transfer portal at this point of the offseason that could be a good target for the Longhorns is the former Arizona State Sun Devils freshman former elite four-star recruit Marcus Bagley. This 6-foot-8 and 215 pound forward and California native Bagley was one of the top 30 recruits in the nation during the 2020 cycle.

A true potential hidden gem in the transfer portal at the moment, Bagley could be a great find for Beard and his staff. Bagley did have a productive true freshman campaign when he was actually on the court for the Sun Devils. But he only played in a dozen games for Arizona State last season before putting his name in the transfer portal.

In those dozen games played, Bagley averaged 10.8 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks. And he shot 38.7 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 71.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Bagley brings excellent length, and he has enough switchability to either play at the three or the four. He even handles the ball and creates well enough from almost any spot on the floor to play at the two.

Bagley is one of those college hoops players that both has his name in the transfer portal and that has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. It looks like it is a backup plan for Bagley to find another home out of the portal this year. But Texas should at least be looking into the possibility of bringing in the uber-talented Bagley into the wing/forward rotation.
