Texas Football: Kristopher Ross is recruiting 5-Star S Bryce Anderson hard
Recruiting is an ongoing battle on the Forty Acres, and it’s one that new head coach Steve Sarkisian is getting a lot of help throughout the process. Sark has commits in his 2022 Texas football recruiting class reaching out to key targets of the program on the trail to try and get them in the mix in the near future.
One good example of this is the Longhorns three-star 2022 commit and North Shore defensive tackle Kristopher Ross reaching out to key targets of this class to try and make an impact. Ross is the second most recent addition to the Longhorns 2022 class, which arrived a little less than two months ago.
The two most recent additions to the Longhorns 2022 class came along the defensive line. The only commit more recent in the mix arrived in the form of four-star Brophy College Prep strong-side defensive end Zac Swanson.
A lot of emphasis will continue to fall on the way that Sark and this new coaching staff are able to build out the 2022 class on the defensive side of the ball. Texas has some key targets in the pipeline, including the elite five-star West Brook safety Bryce Anderson.

According to a Horns247 report on May 10 (paid content), Ross is putting in a lot of effort to recruit big-time defensive back prospects like Anderson and the five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris. Ross is teammates with Harris, and Anderson is still a local prospect for the Houston-area product.
Harris and Anderson could be two of the foundational pieces that form a truly elite 2022 Longhorns class in the end. But Texas still might have a ways to go with both targets.
The good news is that the Longhorns are currently trending to land both prospects. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions have all but one of their experts picking Anderson’s commitment to land with Texas over the LSU Tigers and the rest of the competition.
The same could be said for Harris in terms of prospects where the writing is on the wall for Texas to land their commitment.
Texas and LSU are two of a whopping more than 40 schools on Anderson’s offer sheet. Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet are the Texas A&M Aggies, USC Trojans, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Stanford Cardinal, and Tennessee Volunteers.
Moreover, Anderson ranks as the nation’s No. 45 2022 high school prospect, No. 3 safety, and No. 11 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 59 high school prospect, No. 5 safety, and No. 12 prospect out of Texas.
According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2022 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 8 in the nation and in the second spot in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma. The highest-rated commit in the 2022 class is four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue.
